FIXED FLANGE

Fixed Flange Towbar

The design uses a bolt-on towball and can be used with accessories such as bumper guards and tow-steps. The bolt on nature of this towbar means a range of couplings such as standard 50mm towballs, Alko towballs or pin, ball and jaws can be attached to the face plate.

Cycle carriers can be fixed behind the coupling of this style towbar allowing for a towing facility and cycles to be carried at the same time.

FIXED SWAN NECK

Fixed Swan Neck

This design is less likely to affect reversing sensors due to its slimline design. A fixed swan neck towbar also allows for 20mm of adjustment on the towball height and 20mm of adjustment away from the bumper providing an adjustable towball position to suit your needs.

Unfortunately the fixed swan neck towbar is not compatible with common accessories such as bumper protectors and cycle carriers whilst towing.

VERTICAL DETACHABLE SWAN NECK

Detachable Swan Neck

Suitable for vehicles with reversing sensors. In most instances this system is completely invisible once the neck is removed and therefore preserves the aesthetic appearance of the vehicle.

Alko compatible and allows free access to the rear of the vehicle. Lockable with a set of two keys provided.

Storage bag provided for safe keeping once neck is removed.

Vehicle Specific Kits

As vehicle manufacturers incorporate increasingly advanced safety systems, the importance of fitting electrics which protect these is paramount. Technology such as TSP (trailer stability program), self levelling suspension and adaptive cruise control benefit from having vehicle specific kits fitted.

Fitting of these kits varies. Some simply plug into the vehicle wiring harness via a towing plug located usually in the rear of the vehicle. Others are fitted towards the front of the vehicle and may require downloads and reprogramming by the manufacturers. Certain systems lay dormant until a download is undertaken, once complete all systems are active. For example a trailer stability programme would sense a change in the vehicle when towing and is able to correct a snake in the towing unit.

Universal Kits

The most popular installation within the UK is that of a universal 7 channel towing interface module. These are designed to act as a buffer preventing voltage spikes being introduced into the towing vehicles digitally controlled circuits. This product is included within many of our universal towing electrical kits which include all relevant components required for a full installation to be completed.

Kits are available in various lengths of cable and specification dependant on the vehicle application and include detailed fitting instructions. Certain applications include the split charge relay which allows your fridge to be operational until you reach your destination. The relay then switches the power off when the ignition is turned off, thus not draining the vehicle battery.

Universal towing kits, as a minimum include the audible relay, this device buzzes when the vehicle’s directional indicators operate, alerting the driver that the towed unit’s indicators are working (only when coupled to a towed unit). This function is a statutory requirement under the UK road regulations.

Relays

The most popular installation in the UK is that of a universal 7 channel towing interface module. These are designed to act as a buffer to prevent voltage spikes being introduced into the towing vehicles digitally controlled circuits. It also eliminates the possibility of a fault within the towing units electrical circuits from damaging that of the towing vehicles. Other product listings include the audible relay, a device which buzzes when the vehicle’s directional indicators operate, alerting the driver that the towed unit’s indicators are working (only when coupled to a towed unit). This function is a statutory requirement under the UK road regulations.

We also supply the split charge relay which allows your fridge to be operational until you reach your destination. The relay then switches off the power when the ignition is turned off, not draining the vehicle battery.
